Child marriage is very frequent in Bangladesh. To address child marriage, a number of government and non-government initiative have been taken. However, every attempt to stop child marriage has remained partially successful. To understand the people’s mindset behind the decision of child marriage, this study has been adopted. This study specifically shed important light on how decisions related with early marriage are made, which, in turn, was useful for Government organizations and NGOs to determine new, innovative interventions; the Government in designing policies, the development partners in identifying appropriate strategies as well as policy and program support for Bangladeshi women and girls.

The main objectives of the study was to identify the determinants to child marriage at the household, community and institutional levels by conducting a diagnostic study and provide an in-depth analysis about the factors and their patterns of interaction in determining the decision-making process at the household level.
