The BRAC Youth Platform (BYP) is a special initiative that brings together various efforts by BRAC that focus on young people. In line with BRAC’s strategic focus on investing in the future, BYP aims to prepare youth and adolescentsfor the constantly changing aspects of life, citizenship, and work in the 21st century. This platform is working to build a system of opportunities that can support young people at different stages in their lives through two main programs: the Amra Notun Network (ANN) and Creative Clubs. Amra Notun Network (ANN) trains and empowers college students and recent graduates (ages 16-30) with valuable skills. Since 2018, over 770 young people in 12 districts have completed 130+ community projects. ANN alumni continue to work on social issues, emergency response, and community welfare. They also mentor and select the next generation of changemakers.
Additionally, Creative Clubs, a recent addition to BYP, provide inspiring learning environments for school students aged 11-16. They refurbish school classrooms, turning them into spaces that foster creativity. So far, the program has reached 7 schools in 2 districts, with 280 adolescents participating in the clubs. The purpose of the assessment was to measure the effectiveness and relevance of BYP. dRi conducted the assessment which focused on the impacts that BYP makes and how BYP’s interventions are effective in bringing desired changes in the targeted community
