SNV Bangladesh had received a grant from the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands (EKN) for “Promoting SRHR through Inclusive Business Practices within Ready Made Garment (RMG) Industry in Bangladesh” which is branded as ‘Working with Women’ -a pilot initiative (May 2014-July 2017). The aim of that piloting was to test viable business solutions to improve workers health while Sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) are the priority. SNV invited interested private sector and NGOs to offer innovative business model which would ensure affordable, accessible and available health services to the worker. One of the models was Health Insurance model which was piloted though “Pragati Life Insurance Limited” Furthermore, SNV replicated the similar model with funding support from Carrefour Foundation and this is in operation since 2017. To assess the outcome and effectiveness of the CF funded ‘health insurance’ project in terms of improvement of workers (female and male) knowledge/awareness, attitudes and practices on Health especially in SRH, and improvement in business outcomes of the factories, SNV is commissioning this outcome study. The study identified conceptual and implementation gaps/challenges and inform measures and systems for improvement
