This research comprised of comparative country (Bangladesh, India, Kenya and Mozambique) case studies and aimed to study the causes (grievances and opportunities) of food riots and right-to-food movements, as well as their effects (how governments respond, whether their response institutionalizes accountability) during the recent periods of food price volatility.
