Government of Bangladesh, in cooperation with the World Bank, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), has developed an Investment Plan to access concessional climate finance resources from the Scaling-up Renewable Energy Program (SREP) of the Climate Investment Funds (CIFs). The proposed Project Development Objective is to increase installed generation capacity of renewable energy in Bangladesh.
This gender responsive social assessment study aims to make the proposed Project design gender responsive. The assessment analyzed and determine the measures to be adopted for meeting the needs of the both female and male beneficiaries of the project as well as the male and female members of the implementing agencies by undertaking reviews and stakeholder consultations. The assessment generated gender sensitive operational recommendations for the project design.
