Women’s Voice and Leadership- Bangladesh (WVLB) Project is part of Canada’s Women’s Voice and Leadership Program, which supports local and regional women’s organizations and networks that are working to promote women’s rights. This project is created to meet the needs of local women’s organizations in the developing countries. In Bangladesh, this project is implemented by Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) which is a Bangladeshi non-governmental organization. Their mission is to promote human rights and governance through partnership with relevant stakeholders for a world free from poverty, exploitation and discrimination where people live in freedom, dignity and human security. The aim is to strengthen the ability of local women’s rights organizations in Bangladesh to help the vulnerable and marginalized women to exercise their rights.
However, as a part of this project intervention, MJF awarded dRi to administer a mid-term review to analyze the project performance by measuring the impact of COVID-19. Issues regarding the current strategies, interventions, programme management, implementation strategies, WRO management, operational systems, relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, impact, and sustainability of the project including WROs were investigated. As well as, challenges and strategic gaps which prevented the project from reaching its outcomes were assessed and proper recommendations were provided to enhance project performance.
