CLS funded by the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID) provided grants to 18 non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Bangladesh, who aimed to support improved community legal services. British Council sought answers to some questions through this rapid appraisal like what are the most effective strategies Bangladeshi NGOs use to improve legal services? What role does capacity building play in this? Should international donors focus on promoting legal services, empowerment, or both? dRi was assigned to complete this study.
