Naomi Hossain, Research Fellow, Power & Popular Politics cluster, Institute of Development Studies (IDS), along with Dr. Ferdous Jahan, Professor, Department of Public Administration, University of Dhaka is conducting a research on the Politics of Implementing Social Protection in Bangladesh. This research wants to find out; how do state-society relations shape the implementation of social protection and how, in turn, does implementation transform these relations? The research worked with a conceptual framework that treats social protection as a process of negotiation through state-society relations. The research exploreed how variation in state capacity and state-society relations influences, how social protection policies are implemented and, in turn, transform state-society relations.
