The Gender Quality Action-Learning (GQAL) Program of BRAC, works with male and female field-staff and managers in a process of issue-analysis, action planning, and implementation (the GQAL cycle) to address organizational change and program quality concerns in a way that is informed by an understanding of gender. The GQAL has addressed various issues related to promote gender equality, and end gender based discriminations and domestic violence in line with the BRAC’s vision and mission. The study measured to what extent the GQAL Program has become effective to ensure women’s empowerment at the grassroots level and looked into a comparison between the GQAL Design and the Implementation of the Program at the field level. The research also looked into various programmatic, village and household level characteristics associated with the changes in the key outcomes among the beneficiary households who has become empowered and made an overall impact assessment of the GQAL Program. The study was conducted following a qualitative approach in intervention (program) and non-intervention (comparison) areas of Gaibandha and Brahmanbaria districts
