The study on work environments and careers in garment factories in South Asia was conducted by researchers at Texas A&M University, the Indian Statistical Institute, and the Lahore School of Economics. dRi was appointed to execute the endline factory worker survey for this study in Bangladesh. dRi conducted a large-scale quantitative factory worker survey on behalf of Texas A&M University. The study collected individual-level data from 3,024 factory respondents through in-person interviews followed by phone surveys. The survey focused on factory workers’ conditions, employment, and related dynamics. dRi handled full implementation including questionnaire review and translation into the local language, programming in SurveyCTO, enumerator training, coordination with factory management for scheduling visits, rigorous quality control, daily data tracking, encrypted data transfer, and delivery of a clean, fully verified dataset. This comprehensive approach ensured robust data collection and provided valuable insights into the work environments and career trajectories within the garment industry in South Asia.
