The ‘Support Measures Study: Acceleration to Justice in Bangladesh’ project, implemented under the NIRAS-DCAF consortium and funded by the European Union, aimed to assess justice sector reforms in Bangladesh to ensure an inclusive and effective justice system. The project focused on two key areas: examining access to justice for women and children and evaluating the quality of service delivery in Village Courts, which play a crucial role in providing grassroots justice and alleviating the burden on formal judicial systems. Through this initiative, the project sought to identify barriers, recommend solutions, and contribute to the design of impactful justice sector interventions. dRi contributed to this initiative by conducting extensive fieldwork, which included 640 surveys, 16 FGDs, 12 IDIs, 34 KIIs, 4 case studies, and 4 observations. The findings from these studies provided valuable insights to inform EU policy dialogue and intervention design, supporting justice sector reform and ensuring equal access to justice for margin alised groups in Bangladesh.
