NORTHERN AREAS REDUCTION-OF-POVERTY INITIATIVE (NARI) is a pilot project aiming at facilitating access to employment opportunities in the garment sector for poor and vulnerable women from lagging areas of Northwestern districts of Bangladesh namely Rangpur, Gaibandha, Kurigram, Nilphamari and Lalmonirhat by providing information, technical and life skills training, transitional housing, and other support to adjust to urban life and formal sector employment. The aim of the study is to explore and report on the potential areas of Bangladesh and the number of potential women from these poverty-stricken areas that would be willing for training in NARI project and subsequently join RMG workforce. dRi was assigned for the data collection and the study adopted a mixed method data collection approach.
