Public concern about environmental sustainability and the concept of a “green society” had been gaining importance in Bangladesh, alongside increasing interest in how environmental issues shaped political awareness, public attitudes, and voting behavior. To generate empirical evidence on these dynamics, the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) initiated a primary research study to examine people’s perceptions of a green society and their relationship with electoral participation and voting preferences. The study aimed to contribute to policy dialogue and research on sustainability, governance, and democratic engagement in Bangladesh. dRi implemented the primary quantitative survey, coordinated and supervised field operations, and delivered the required datasets and outputs in accordance with the Terms of Reference.
