The Asia Foundation implemented the Digital Bioscope: Foundational AI and Digital Literacy Pilot, a school-based model designed to build foundational digital literacy and early AI preparedness among primary school students, teachers, and parents in Bangladesh. The Year 1 pilot equipped five schools in Rajshahi and Saidpur with digital learning setups (tablets/computers preloaded with Let’s Read library and curated applications) and trained approximately 25 teachers to deliver guided sessions to around 250 students through storytelling, games, and interactive content. The evaluation measured changes over time in student digital literacy and AI readiness, teacher facilitation capacity, the functionality and safety of the learning environments, and equity and inclusion, while also developing a MEL framework for the broader programme. dRi was engaged to design and conduct the mixed-methods longitudinal evaluation across baseline, midline, and endline rounds.
