dRi was contracted by the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) to conduct the primary data collection for the study titled “Women in the Agriculture Sector of Bangladesh: How do they contribute and what is the value?” The mixed-method study aimed to estimate the economic value of women’s unpaid agricultural work, identify supporting factors for its formal recognition in national income, explore the role of modern technologies in enhancing women’s agency in agricultural production and household decision-making, and assess how access to critical resources (land, credit, digital tools, knowledge) strengthens women’s empowerment. dRi carried out a nationally representative quantitative household survey of 2,000 households across all eight divisions using two-stage stratified cluster sampling based on the 2022 Population and Housing Census frame, along with qualitative data collection comprising 16 FGDs and 32 KIIs. Data were collected with strict quality control and real-time monitoring, and all deliverables were submitted to CPD.
